Why does the job exist?

This position will ensure proper settlement, posting and reconciliation of equity and fixed income securities transactions as well as alternative investment (private equity, real asset and opportunistic credit) transactions. This position will also complete administrative duties as assigned.
How does it get done?

The incumbent will apply knowledge of economics, finance and accounting principles and practices, the equity and fixed-income markets, alternative investment vehicles (private equity, real asset and opportunistic credit), banking, and the analysis and reporting of accounting and financial data.
Who are the customers?

Chief Investment Officer, Deputy Chief Investment Officers, Investment Portfolio Managers, Chief Financial Officer, and external counter parties.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration and four (4) years of directly related experience in budgeting, accounting, and/or auditing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. For use at the State Investment Council only: any budgeting, accounting, and/or auditing experience is acceptable.
Employment Requirements

Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
